How do we "see" teaching/learning/schooling?

Well, we see things in different ways of course! We do and so do students. Remember, we were students. So how do we see how "modern technology" fits in the schooling of US? How do we see teachers being schooled in the use of these "modern" tools? Are the tools all that modern anymore?

I would like to bring together the worlds of tools and teaching and technology into one idea, one event, one practice. I'm not sure "best practice" are the words I want to use and what is good for one may not be best practice for another. That is something I am working on. So it the Prezi below.

  1. I'm glad to see this topic being brought up. I agree that technology is only a tool to help people communicate using new mediums. In the same way an artist has many choices of how to express himself just using paints we too can use computers in a variety of ways to create, express and communicate a message to those we know and those we will never meet face to face. Nevertheless, there are still basic tools that everyone needs who interacts with a computer or other communication devices. These fundamental skills are the the foundation for more complex work. It all depends upon the amount of interest and time that the individual is willing to devote to learning what sometimes seems like a new language. But the payoffs are unbelievable, well worth the time and effort.
